CPR/AED Only
A CPR-Only class is a focused training session designed to teach the life-saving skills needed to respond specifically to cardiac and breathing emergencies. Unlike a combined "First Aid/CPR" course, this class skips general injury care (like wound bandaging or treating burns) to provide deep, concentrated practice on resuscitation techniques.
Core Course Content
Most CPR-only classes follow the standards set by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross, focusing on the "Chain of Survival":
-
Chest Compressions: Mastering the correct hand placement, depth (at least 2 inches for adults), and rate (100–120 beats per minute).
-
Rescue Breathing: Learning how to provide oxygen to the lungs using the head-tilt/chin-lift maneuver and barrier masks.
-
AED Operation: Training on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator, which can shock a heart back into a normal rhythm.
-
Choking Relief: Techniques for clearing airway obstructions in conscious and unconscious victims.
-
Age-Specific Care: Adjusting techniques for Adults, Children, and Infants, as their physiological needs differ.
Typically 2-3 hrs depending on class size
Red Cross Certificate valid for 2 years
Infant Through Adult First Aid CPR/AED
(Most Popular)
An Infant Through Adult First Aid CPR & AED class is a comprehensive, all-in-one training program designed to prepare you for almost any medical emergency. While a standard CPR class focuses only on the heart, this course covers the full spectrum of emergency care for victims of all ages—from newborns to the elderly.
1. Life-Saving CPR & AED
You will learn the specific physiological differences in how to treat adults versus small children and infants:
-
Adults & Children: High-depth chest compressions and the use of standard AED pads.
-
Infants (under 1 year): Gentle two-finger or two-thumb compression techniques and specialized rescue breathing.
-
AED Training: How to use an Automated External Defibrillator on all age groups, including the use of pediatric pads/settings.
2. First Aid (Illness and Injury)
This portion covers critical skills for managing common non-cardiac emergencies:
-
Wound Care: Stopping life-threatening bleeding with direct pressure or tourniquets, and treating minor cuts, burns, and scrapes.
-
Bone & Joint Injuries: Identifying and stabilizing fractures, sprains, and potential neck or spinal injuries.
-
Sudden Illness: Recognizing signs of heart attack, stroke, seizures, and diabetic emergencies.
-
Environmental Emergencies: Handling heat exhaustion, heatstroke, and hypothermia.
-
Typically 4-6 hrs depending on class size
Red Cross Certificate Valid for two yeas
Child Through Adult
A Child through Adult First Aid CPR & AED class is a versatile training program that bridges the gap between pediatric and adult emergency care. It is specifically designed for individuals who interact with both age groups—such as teachers, youth coaches, and office safety officers—but who do not typically care for infants (babies under 1 year old).
This course ensures you can recognize and respond to a wide range of medical emergencies involving anyone from a young child to an elderly adult.
1. CPR & AED (The Life-Saving Basics)
Training focuses on the distinct techniques required for different body sizes:
-
Adults: High-pressure chest compressions (at least 2 inches deep) using two hands.
-
Children: Adjusting compression depth and potentially using a one-handed technique for smaller frames to avoid injury while maintaining circulation.
-
AED Training: Learning to use an Automated External Defibrillator with both adult pads and pediatric-specific settings or pads for children.
Typically 3.5-5 hrs, depending on class size
Red Cross Certificate Valid for 2 years
